> WHERE'S THE PARTY YAAR?, screening and party hosted by Tasveer and co-presented by NWAAFF

Tasveer, Seattle's independent South Asian film organization, presented the Seattle premiere of the Desi comedy WHERE'S THE PARTY YAAR? Special guests from WTPY were in attendance, and everyone enjoyed a post-screening dance party featuring DJs from Seattle and Portland, live visuals, and more!

> SAIGON, U.S.A., a screening and reception
NWAAFF and the Unity of Vietnamese Americans Committee (UVAC) hosted a screening of Lindsey Jang's and Robert C. Winn's documentary SAIGON, U.S.A. Special guests included director Robert C. Winn, film subject Nguyen Huy Vu, and emcee Lily Jang of Q13 FOX News. A reception followed at Saigon Bistro.

> ROBOT STORIES at the Varsity Theatre in Seattle

ROBOT STORIES, the closing night feature from NWAAFF 2003, was back in Seattle for a theatrical run at the Varsity Theatre in Seattle's University District.

> REFUGEE, a documentary by Spencer Nakasako
In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, we screened REFUGEE, the acclaimed documentary about three young men who travel to Cambodia to reconnect with family that was left behind. Our special guests were filmmaker and REFUGEE subject Mike Siv and Khmer American rapper Prach Ly, and our host was Manuel Cawaling.

After four days and over forty films, NWAAFF 2003 ends with a bang! Thanks to all of our participating filmmakers and special guests, our festival partners, and also to the hundreds of people who attended the festival. Also, a hearty congratulations to our Audience Award winners, Max Chan's WHO IS MS. CHOW? and Mimi Gan's WITH HONORS DENIED.

> SEARCHING FOR ASIAN AMERICA, a production of NAATA/KVIE
Northwest Asian American Theatre (NWAAT) presented the Northwest premiere of the PBS series SEARCHING FOR ASIAN AMERICA. We were joined by special guests Donald Young of the National Asian American Telecommunications Association (NAATA), Governor Gary Locke and First Lady Mona Lee Locke. The post-screening discussion was hosted by Mimi Gan of KING 5's "Evening Magazine."
