Five different stories comprise a single ninety-second vignette,
each tale illuminating an element of the deceased's life during his
wake. A meditation on the Buddhist notion of reincarnation as
presented through an interracial family coping with a death in the
family.

woman and her yakuza assistant, Juliette transforms an ordinary day
into an imaginative adventure, embarking on a surreal journey of
discovery.

("Obituary," "A Fishbowl and Some Dimes," and "Blah, Blah, Blah�) from
the novel Wild Meat and the Bully Burgers by award-winning
Hawaii writer Lois-Ann Yamanaka.
